Foundation programme

The two-year Foundation training is based on a series of job rotations and requires doctors to demonstrate their abilities and competence against set standards. This system offers doctors the chance to gain insight into possible career options and to build a wider appreciation of medicine before embarking on specialist training. During Foundation training the CDU offers trainees two free MedicCareers workshops and the possibility of individual career guidance for those with a career dilemma - email cdu@oxford-pgmde.co.uk .

Foundation trainees are also eligible for performance coaching if they are experiencing difficulties in their role.
