Dr Penelope Toff

I qualified in Medicine and Psychology in London and worked in a number of medical specialties, as well as in higher education and Art Psychotherapy, before training, working and teaching in Public Health Medicine. I specialised in Health Protection and was Consultant & Deputy Director of Public Health at NHS Brent in London, worked for the national Public Health England team and now work as an independent Public Health Consultant. I have been involved in medical politics since 2004, serving as co-Chair of the BMA Public Health Medicine Committee (PHMC) from 2012-2014 and currently as a member of the BMA Board of Science. I trained and work as a co-active life coach, a coach supervisor and in careers coaching. I was delighted to be appointed in September 2014, as the Director of HEE Thames Valley Professional Support Unit (PSU), where I have the enormous privilege to exercise my passion for empowering individuals and enabling them to achieve their full potential, through leading and developing the very talented PSU team, strengthening our work with educators and supporting doctors and other health care professionals at all stages of their careers.
