I am a consultant rheumatologist in Buckinghamshire having qualified in 1972 and gained my rheumatology experience in London and Norwich. My early training involved a significant career change and my consultant responsibilities have varied over the years including a period when I was involved in neurorehabilitation as well as rheumatology.
I have had a variety of roles in medical management including as clinical director, associate medical director and for almost 6 years as medical director of an acute Trust. During that time I was involved in the wide range of problems that doctors can experience including performance issues, workplace relationship difficulties, career problems and personal stresses and had responsibilities for clinical standards, medical disciplinary matters and worked with the clinical tutors and deanery. I hope to use that expertise to good effect within the CDU.
