Dr. David Bailey
I have been a Consultant Histopathologist at Wycombe Hospital since
1998, after training in the specialty in the Royal Air Force and at St
Mary's, King's College and University College London Hospital Medical
Schools. I have been involved in training junior histopathologists for
all of my time as a Consultant and became Chair of the Specialty
Training Committee in 2004. I am co-Lead for the Oxford Deanery
Histopathology Training School which opened in Buckinghamshire
Hospitals NHS Trust in August 2005, and I sit on the Training Schools
Strategy Board of the Department of Health. I am also the Royal
College of Pathologists Regional Advisor for Histopathology.
I became Clinical Tutor for Wycombe Hospitals in 2004 and have been
intimately involved in setting up the Foundation programme within our
Trust. This has brought me into contact with the Career Development
Unit, and encouraged me to join the team, which I did towards the end
of 2005.
