I qualified in Nigeria in 1989, started postgraduate training in the UK in 1992 and have been a Consultant Physician specialising in Diabetes and Endocrinology since 2002, first in Leicester then East Berkshire. I have been an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training throughout my consultant career to date, supervising both Foundation Year 1 trainees and Specialist Registrars.
I really enjoy helping individuals fulfil their potential and signposting them in the direction of training and career opportunities. Having done my initial training abroad and then moved back to the UK to embark on postgraduate training, I fully appreciate the challenges that can often be encountered as one tries to adjust and acclimatise to a completely different system. I think this experience will particularly help me in my role working for the CDU.
